HA Hydra-Glide

Lycoderm Scar Gel

Description
: Lycoderm Scar Gel is a proprietary blend of silicones and polymers to provide a semi-permeable network that will improve the appearance of scars. Description:  ARP Triple peel is an effective and safe peeling option for use in patients with melasma.  Ingredients also exhibit anti-bacterial and comedolytic properties.

Description:

Lifting Peptide Pearls

Description:  
20 Luxurious single-dose serum pearls with concentrated actives.
Actively contributes to wrinkle reduction. Decreased wrinkle volume and length after just 1 week:

·       Length was diminished by 15.9%

Clindamycin 2% Azelaic Acid 5% Cream
 

Description:  Azelaic acid has been demonstrated to have antibacterial activity, comedolytic effect and is known for effective and well-tolerated treatment for hyperpigmentation. Useful in the event of pigmentation caused by acne scars. Clindamycin is an excellent topical antibiotic choice for the treatment of acne. Combination options decrease risk of resistance.
 

Active Ingredients:  Clindamycin • Azelaic acid
 

Study: The combination option has a high patient satisfaction score over a 12-week treatment period according to the refrenced study.

Dapsone 7.5% Gel

Description:
Dapsone Gel is a non-retinoid, BPO-free prescription acne treatment for inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne and can be prescribed for use once daily.
 

Active Ingredient:  Dapsone

Study:  Safe, effective and well-tolerated in pre-adolescent patients. Efficacy proved with use over 12 weeks. See studies 

Benzoyl Peroxide 2% Wash

Description: 
Benzoyl peroxide has been an important component of topical therapy used by dermatologists for acne vulgaris for more than five decades. It works as an antiseptic and markedly reduces Propionibacterium acnes and inflammatory acne lesions, as well as moderately reducing non-inflammatory acne lesions.
 

Active Ingredient:  Benzoyl peroxide (BPO)

Salicylic Acid 2% Face Wash

Description:
A moisturising and cleansing face wash with a special surfactant system that prevents the stripping of essential, healthy oils from the skin. Salicylic acid greatly helps in reducing acne and preventing further breakouts. It exfoliates the skin, unclogging pores and gently removing top-layer dry skin cells from the surface of the skin, to keep the skin healthy and clean.
 

Active Ingredient:  Salicylic Acid

-- Let it sit... 
For optimum results, encourage patients to apply the wash with water to form a lather on the skin, then leave it on for a minute or two to soften. This will allow the patient to get the best benefit possible from the active ingredient and will significantly improve results. --

Hypochlorous Acid Solution

DescriptionTopical formulations of HOCl are used for pre-procedural skin preparation and post-procedural wound management.

·         Potent antimicrobial

·         Reduction of pain and itch

·         Reduction of inflammation

·         Assists wound healing
 

Active Ingredients: Hypochlorous acid.

Study: Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) emerging option for periprocedural care

D-Panthenol Post Procedure Foam

Description: 
 This product was developed to promote the regeneration of skin tissue post-procedure, as well as after sun- and thermal skin burns. 

 

The high content of Dexpanthenol (9% D-panthenol) intensely moisturises the damaged areas of the epidermis and helps to restore it at a cellular level for smooth and rehydrated skin.


The inclusion of Hyaluronic acid supports the repair of the skin barrier and transepidermal water loss is also reduced.

 

The foam is easy to apply and the specific form of HA used contains different molecular weights for distribution to various layers of the skin.

Bruise Gel
 

Description: Developed on request for Actinic Purpura in older patients, containing the same star-ingredient Vitamin K (phenadione) found in our very popular Lycoderm Post Procedure Cream suggested as standard aftercare for facial procedures.

Heparin Gel 20000 iu / 100g
 

Description: Heparin is an anticoagulant medication used to prevent the formation of blood clots.

Heparin gel is compounded for patients with various types of phlebitis. Previously commercially available as Thrombophob®, we prepare a combination of Heparin 20 000 iu with methylnicotinate (instead of benzyl nicotinate used in Thrombophob®) for topical use to break down blood clots, prevent the formation of new clots and to reduce swelling and inflammation.

Active Ingredients:   Heparin 200 iu / g 

Study: Topical heparin preparations may be useful for relieving the signs and symptoms of peripheral venous disorders.

Lycoderm can prepare strengths as prescribed suggested 200 – 1000 iu
per gram for application 2-3 times per day.

Fluorouracil & Calcipotriol Combination Cream

Description: 
 Dual mode of action - inflammatory response of fluorouracil and the immune response of the calcipotriol results in an effective, much-reduced course of treatment of solar keratoses. Applied twice daily for 4 days for the face, scalp, ears and decolletage and 6 days for the forearms and backs of hands.
 

Active Ingredients: Fluorouracil & Calcipotriol

Study: Effective compounded option for treating sun-damage with advantage of shorter duration and reduced reaction.

SK Gel

Description: 
 Multi-ingredient compounded topical alternative (vs surgical intervention) for Seborrheic Keratoses boasts advantage of home application, efficacy and excellent reported tolerability.
 

Active Ingredients: Urea • Lactic acid • Mandelic acid • Glycolic acid 
Salicylic acid

Description: 
 This sunscreen offers full spectrum protection from UVA, UVB, HEV and IR-A. It blends easily on the skin, has a non-oily feel and does not leave any white residue.

ORAL - Leuconym
 

Description: Leuconym is a combination of Polypodium leucotomos and Nicotinamide for oral photoprotection. It is a safe and effective option (based on the excellent safety profile of Polypodium leucotomos), that offers protection against UV radiation, and which can reduce the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation.

Minoxidil Oral Capsules 30's
 

Description: Oral Minoxidil has emerged as an alternative for hair loss. Although the optimum dose still needs to be validated, doses in published studies report the successful use of low-dose oral Minoxidil at 0.25-5mg daily in both men and women with AGA.

Active Ingredient: Minoxidil

Study: According to a review article in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (June, 2020), low-dose oral Minoxidil is an effective and safe treatment alternative for a variety of hair loss disorders in healthy patients.

Tofacitinib 2% Topical
 

Description: Topical application of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are receiving attention for treatment for Alopecia Areata.

Active Ingredients: Tofacitinib

Cetirizine Topical Lotion
 

Description: Cetirizine Topical has emerged as a topical treatment for Androgenic Alopecia. Cetirizine is increasingly being studied for its role in many types of hair loss including Androgenetic Alopecia and Lichen Planopilaris.

Study:

Recent publications confirm the benefit of Cetirizine 1% solution for hair growth in the treatment of Androgenic Alopecia.

Metformin 10% Scalp Lotion
 

Description: Topical metformin is found to be effective for the treatment of scarring alopecia aka central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA).
This compound was our most popular new prescription compound for 2021.

Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% Serum
 

Description: Targeted to improve the appearance of fine lines associated with photodamaged skin in the periorbital and upper lip area.   

Active Ingredients: Alpha Lipoic Acid (thioctic acid)

Study: Treatment with a cream containing 5% alpha lipoic acid has shown to improve clinical characteristics related to photoageing and photodamaged facial skin. See related studies:

Retinoid Complex Serum
 

Description: Oil-based serum - different forms of Vitamin A is incorporated in clinically relevant concentrations to stimulate collagen synthesis and promote skin cell turnover, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Active Ingredients: Hydroxypinacolone retinoate • Bakuchiol • Squalene
•Jojoba oil

Ruxolitinib 1.5% Cream
 

Description: Registered Opzelura ® (ruxolitinib topical cream) is available in the United States used by dermatologists to treat atopic eczema and since recently (July 2022) the first and only FDA-approved treatment for repigmentation in patients with vitiligo.

Tofacitinib Topical
 

Description: Facial Vitiligo lesions are reported to respond more successfully than other areas to treatment with topical tofacitinib 2%.

Cimetidine Oral Suspension
 

Description:  A histamine-2 antagonist that is commonly used for gastric acid suppression. The immunomodulatory effect of oral cimetidine at doses of 30–40 mg/kg/day has been reported and its clinical use as a treatment for warts reported in small studies.

Ciclopirox Nail Lacquer
 

Description: Ciclopirox formulated in a water-based lacquer intended for topical treatment of fungal infections on fingernails and toenails (onychomycoses). and immediately adjacent skin.

Active Ingredients:  Ciclopirox Olamine

Study: The most common organisms involved, particularly in toenail infections, are dermatophytes (90%), with Trichophyton rubrum as the main causal agent (71%) . A study in 2019 found Ciclopirox to have a more complete anti-fungal activity compared to efinaconazole in the management of onychomycosis without potential to induce resistance to Trichophyton.

Calcipotriol Ointment
 

Description:  Dovobet (Calcipotriol/Betamethasone combination) is available commercially and may not be compounded, but in circumstances where practitioners require or prefer Calcipotriol without cortisone-component (betamethasone).

Dovonex is calcipotriol in a topical ointment that is no longer commercially available - Lycoderm is able to compound this on a prescription basis.

Study: Often used as first-line treatment for plaque psoriasis

Tacrolimus 0.3% Topical Scalp Lotion
 

Description: A topical lotion that can be applied to the skin on the scalp and neck area to treat moderate psoriasis. Valuable consideration to negate the risk of skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and striae compared to other topical treatment options. 

Active Ingredients:  Tacrolimus

Study: Topical administration of tacrolimus has demonstrated considerable efficacy in the treatment of psoriasis and is particularly effective for inverse psoriasis.
